100 pushups starts!

W1 (Week One) D1 (Day One)

Given that during my initial test I managed eight pushups, I started at Level 2.

First I did 7 pushups, then rest 60 seconds
Then I glanced at the wrong section of the chart. I thought I was supposed to do 5 pushups (I should have done 7) then rest 60 seconds
Then I was supposed to do 5 pushups. Since I'd screwed up, I did 6. Rest 60 seconds
Then I did 4, rested 60 seconds
Then I'm supposed to do as many as I can. I managed 8. So in the future, when I do these reports, I'll write it like this:

100 pushups W1 D1
7, 5, 6, 4, (8)

7, 7, 5, 4, (10)

I'm so excited to do 100 pushups! Thank you so much for letting us all know about this challenge!

Watch out for Week 3...

I know! After struggling to complete day one, I'm wondering how the hell I'm going to be able to work up to it. And I've been doing pushups to start every karate class for over a year. I must admit I find it hard to believe that the program actually works and I will get stronger. I'll give it my very best, though, and I know that if I manage to reach the goal, I'll really know it's a remarkable achievement!

Yay! I started Sunday, thinking I would do Sunday, Tuesday Thurday and then the week two test on Saturday. Then Mon, Wed Fri with the next test on Sunday...I might over think these things.

While I do a lot of moaning and whining about being stuck on Week 3 Day 1, the fact is I am getting better at doing pushups. The progression is steady - sloooow, but steady.

As [livejournal.com profile] rvrjoe775 pointed out, there's a big jump between the amount done in week 2 and the amount one is supposed to do in week 3.
