Delia is a sad panda

because her iPod classic, which we gave to her for Christmas 2007, fell out of her pocket as she was running after the bus yesterday. At the Metrodome light rail stop, one of the busiest transit places in the twin cities. She realized it almost immediately when she got on the bus, but she couldn't exit, because of the route she was taking over highways. She called me frantically on her cell phone, but by the time she reached me and I raced back to where I dropped her off, the iPod was gone. I looked for it for almost a half hour. No luck.

She apologized, but it was absolutely clear that it wasn't carelessness on her part, but just a rotten bit of bad luck. The girls have been SO good and careful about keeping track of their iPods and phones. They use them every day.

Damn. This sucks.

Peg, I have an iPod Touch which is an older model (second generation, maybe? I've had it for about three years) that's still in good working order and about to be replaced by a new one. It only has 8G of space, but if Delia doesn't put many apps on it there should be lots of room for music. And as I doubt she wants my used earbuds, she'd probably want to get her own earbuds/headphones. But let me know if she'd like a hand-me-down! I'm happy to pass it on. It'll just wind up on Craigslist, otherwise. :)
