Whimperfest

Today, both girls felt under the weather, particularly Fiona. She had a sore throat, a fever, and both girls were itching from mosquito bites. We skipped church. It was lovely out, but they were too miserable to care. I heard more whimpers today than in the last six months. Cabin fever hit about 3:00 and I took them to a bookstore, hoping a quiet time reading there would suit, maybe followed by a visit to an ice cream shop, but they just didn't enjoy it. I took them home. Delia (feverish) whimpered because she wanted to go to the park. Fiona (more feverish) whimpered because she didn't. Whimper, whimper, whimper. As bad as they felt, I had a dickens of a time getting them to sleep tonight. They were still whimpering at 9:45 pm, two hours after I'd put them down. Rob didn't get home from work until then, the dog (all store meeting kept him late).

Did they get their mosquito bites at the same time and place that R got hers--prior to R's giving your girls advice on the male of the species? (That sounds hilarious, wish I had a tape.) She hasn't been whimpering, but rather complaining loudly and often. (The words "Drama Queen" come to mind.)

Yes, they got them on the party, alas. They put repellent on, but not soon enough.

[Wish I'd had a tape, too.]
