One thing we have in common is being strongly influenced by reading 'My Side of the Mountain.' I was only in middle school, but made plans to go live in the wilderness as soon as I was old enough, and did a scratch-board drawing of a peregrine falcon (presently in the possession of my mother) every bit as good as I could do today.

These days I've grown too fond of indoor plumbing and the internet to carry through with wilderness plans, but I think I could look on it as an adventure if necessity ever forced it.
