See lorax523's recent (22 Dec) post about TTT. While you may not agree with her thoughts on Faramir's portrayal, I thought it had some merit -- that yes, Faramir is what Boromir could have been, but it shows in the final result. Not that Faramir wasn't tempted at all, but that he *was* and yet chose the high road in the end, which Boromir could/did not.
