True love at 3:00 a.m.

Last night, I woke up at three o'clock in the morning with dreadful chest pain. We went through the medical books, and based on the symptoms eventually concluded it was heartburn. I'd had a spicy black bean burrito at lunch, which was certainly suspicious, and even though Chipolte burritos had never given me trouble before, I did have a history of several episodes of gastric reflux a number of years ago, and it felt like that, to the best of my recollection.

So my wonderful husband got out of bed and drove to the twenty-four hour pharmacy to buy me some Tums.

He also brought back a rose.

That's true love.

Yep, he's a keeper!

Sounds remarkably like something I'd do, actually. ;)

Poor thing! I suffered from heartburn all the time when I was pregnant, and occasionally now, and the thing that helped the most was elderflower tea. If you can find any where you are -- I can't here and have to import it from Britain. I have loads just at the moment, and my aunt's coming out in November and could bring more, so I could send you some if you like.

Licorice root tabs are excellent for settling the stomach and several digestive complaints; if you'd like to try some, I've got lots. They have no known side effects, but you have to enjoy (or at least tolerate) the taste of licorice root.
