Minicon Schedule

I will be at [livejournal.com profile] minicon41. My panels are as follows:

Depression and Creativity (Saturday 3:00 - 4:15 p.m.)
Young Adult Novels for Adults (Fiona is going to be on this one, too) (Saturday 7:00-8:15 p.m.)
Jane Austen's Influence on Fantasy (Sunday 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.)

I will not be doing a reading, as I haven't written anything new in about a year and if you want a book signed, grab me any time, but I figured that just about anyone who wanted anything signed has had it done by now, so I didn't sign up for a signing time.

Not really related to Minicon, since I won't be there, but could I mail my copy of The Wild Swans to you for signing? I can include return postage ... all I'm asking of you is a bit of your time for a signature. :)

What YA novels are you discussing?

(I'm working on a list for the county library website on just this topic; I've submitted 25 titles but I can always add more.)

Aargh! I would love to see the Jane Austen panel but I'll be leaving for North Carolina on Saturday night.

I don't feel very knowledgeable about the current crop of YA novels--when they asked me to be on the panel, I suggested Fiona as someone who would probably know more than me. Once they accepted her, I just came along for the ride. The moderator is extremely knowledgeable--she's a children's/YA librarian--so I am hoping to riff off of her comments if she recommends any books I recognize.

Those all sound interesting, but particularly the Jane Austen one -- I hope someone takes notes (or records?).

Wow, the "Depression & Creativity" panel sounds great. I'd like to hear the results.

Not quite related, but is there any news on if there's going to be a "LJ" get-together?

(I suppose you're already heard about the Jane Austen action figure, eh?)

Yes, I have, and I made a post about it earlier. Haven't acquired one yet. Maybe for my upcoming birthday!

(Hmm. I will go put it on my wish list.)

Peg --

I'm with you on the Jane Austen panel. Do you think we should wear gloves? I am also attempting to compile a list of fantasy that I think is especially Austen-esque. This will prove a challenge, but probably a fun one!

I think that it is wonderful that Fiona will be on the YA panel. I avoided the YA panel this time because as a children's librarian I have done the YA panel too many years in a row.

Hmm
