Ok, now I'm just going to be contrary for a minute ;)

I fully understand the importance of the Geneva Convention and the wish for humane treatment of prisoners, but....the *rules* of war have changed. Enemy combatants are no longer recognizable from their uniforms. They wear civilian clothing and set up their operations in neighborhoods of innocents. They practically invite raids on their own people, then cry foul when civilians are killed. They are using our rules against us. I guess what I'm attempting to say is that while I don't advocate torture as practiced by terrorists, I don't have any particular objection to *outrages on personal dignity*. The US is not dealing with law-abiding citizens. If the roles were reversed, our military folks would not be treated with any dignity.
