And really, I think she did just that. I actually did think Dunbledore and Grindelwald had fallen in love - whether sexually or platonically is sort of irrelevant, but there's a clear infatuation going on there. To me, telling us that Dumbledore is gay is not at all inconsistent with the story but is belaboring the point. I can forgive her, though, because she kept that heavy-handed telling out of the story, which is the important thing.
