As someone else pointed out, text messages are really cheap; 5 cents to send, 5 to receive. If you go nuts on texting or commonly use more minutes, they have some ways you can pay a flat rate per month and get a chunk of free texts, or lower the per-minute rate to 10 cents. Depends on your usage.
