Here it is. I can't believe they left off The Shining, Moulin Rouge, Bullets Over Broadway and most of all, my all time favorite, Romancing the Stone:

"Joan Wilder? THE Joan Wilder?! I read your books! I read all your books!!!"

American Dreamer, Capote, arguably Wilde, definitely Bullets over Broadway, and if the term stretches to include 8 1/2, Shadow of the Vampire.

My Favorite Year (though that was one of them, I think)
The Daffy Duck Cartoon where he turns into weird creatures...
The Player
Galaxy Quest (sort of)
and a few more that I can't put my finger on. Screenwiters like to write what they know...

It's not about a screenwriter, but if it were just about writers, I'd include Shakespeare In Love. :D

I was saying that if the definition of "writer" is elastic enough to cover 8 1/2, then I think it would also be legitimate to include Shadow of the Vampire, which is also about a director.

I agree with Shakespeare in Love and that other pre-screenwriter - playwright movie: Quills. Oh, and in that case Wilde.
