Trees!

These first two are from Rhinebeck, the New York State Sheep and Fiber Festival, back in last October:
Finally!

And these are from my grandfather's Christmas Tree nursery, that I took last June on a walk during his birthday party. The farm is 11 acres in the middle of surburban Long Island, and is one of the last of its kind in this area. It used to be over 200 acres of land that was purchased back in the 1790s from a future father-in-law, so it's been in the family for well over two centuries now.

Playlist wise, most of my tree-related things seem to be christmas carols, but from that batch I recommend very highly Alfie/Carol for a Christmas Tree/It's In Every One Of Us. It's track 11 off the album "A Christmas Together," by John Denver and the Muppets. (Yes, it's my favorite Christmas album ever.) This song actually had a huge impact on my spiritual development, and I listen to it all year round, despite the seasonal aspect of it. If you have trouble finding it, let me know and I'll pass it on.

This really is a beautiful idea, Peg, and I hope you'll share the results with us at some point.
