Photo slide show of Sarah Palin protect

On September 14, outside on a lawn in front of the Loussac Library in midtown Anchorage, a group of women collected to make the statement that Sarah Palin does not speak for all Alaska women.

Also:
PBS has a poll going: Do you think Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as Vice President of the US?
Voting started at about 66% NO; 30% YES. YES now has 51, NO 48. The right wing has an email campaign going to turn the results around.
Please go vote. It's only a matter of clicking a radio button, Yes, No, or Don't know.

After you vote, please send this to others.

I voted No, but it was only to make the point. Actually I do think she's qualified to be VP. If you look at some of the past holders of that office, so is your average mandrake. I really don't think that she and McCain would have the sort of partnership (or puppeteer?) arrangements the last couple of administrations have had. it's the idea of her as President that scares me witless.

Sorry, but a 'poll' that allows someone to sit there and vote over and over again (as this one does) isn't a valid poll, and won't be taken seriously.

Agreed. I've been wondering since I first saw this: what's the point?

Yeah, you're right, Peg admits cheerfully.

I just couldn't resist.

I've wondered not so much what's the point in passing it on as what's the point of the poll (with unlimited voting) being taken in the first place.

They've changed it since I first saw it a couple days ago, and it now says "Your first and only allowed vote for this poll has been counted. This is not a scientific poll."

As I remarked elsewhere, Palin may well be qualified to perform the (pre-Cheney) duties of VP -- go to funerals and cast tie-breaking votes in the Senate, basically. What she's very much not qualified to do is step in as President if McCain dies in office.

I heard that the anti-Palin rally was the biggest rally in the state's history. I haven't fact-checked this, but it sounds pretty encouraging.
