Physical therapy appointment
The physical therapist I saw at the sports medicine clinic this morning did some manipulation/assessment on my knee. Tentative conclusion: a sprain to the MCL (medial collateral ligament) -- that's the ligament on the left side (inside) of the right knee. She gave me an ultrasound treatment and did some massage (ouch) and I was given some exercises. I'll see her again in a week. Can try alternating heat/cold, applying arnica topically, resuming karate, cautiously, taking care to avoid movements that twist the knee in a way that cause pain. Which might be, um, all of them when I'm kicking. It may take quite awhile before it feels better. Ligaments tend to heal rather slowly. But we'll see.
What I did yesterday to decrease worldsuck: I barely had time to do anything. I had an eleven+ hour work day, and then went from that to a church council meeting, which ran long. I guess . . . voting with the church council to recommend that the church (at this Sunday's annual meeting) vote to assume a partnership relationship with a church in Nigeria. Um, does that count?
