Hi this is Peg. I'm calling while I'm out doing my midmorning walk on the Stone Arch Bridge. I'd missed doing this walk for the past several weeks. I'd stopped due to the problems I'm having with my knee but I'm resuming now because I really did need to get out in the sunshine every day.
The light has a very blue quality. The shadows from the railing of the bridge on the snow is blue rather than black. The air is clear but somewhat hazy, so there's sort of a blurred aspect to the vision of the buildings next to me. The river is covered with ice but the dam, the falls that go over the dam are running. There is steam coming up from the smokestacks from the buildings that overlook the river. I don't see more than one or two people here on the bridge; I've got the place to myself.
It's a great day here in Minneapolis! I hope you're having a wonderful day too.
And warm. So I got the boxes of bottles Dr. P has put in the entry out to my car (to add to what I've already loaded) and took them to the city recycling center up north. The city doesn't take bottles curbside.
It was a good day to be outside and there is a certain gratification to throwing bottles without having to worry about picking up the broken glass, etc. Then I checked out the building recycling store, the Sears warehouse store and some flea markets/thrift stores in that direction. Fun!

And I feel like I've accomplished something.
