Wizard Rock
Okay, I have spent FAR too much time in the last couple days investigating Wizard Rock. Here's a site at MySpace that has links to all the bands.
You'll see the list (they are all hyperlinks) partway down the page. Click on one of the band names there and it will take you to the band page:
( Here's the list )
Most bands have two to four songs that you can download for free. As I said, I've been cruising some of these pages and checking them out. Many of them are execrable and not worth the time, but there are definitely some real rough gems there. The first band, of course, is Harry and the Potters, and some of their songs are pretty bad, esp. on the first album, but by the third album, they're really making some rockin' good music. I'm still glad I have all three of their albums--even the first album, which is the weakest, the kids love. I especially like the cut "Dumbledore" on the third album. Draco and the Malfoys is great, too, and it is definitely worth buying the album. As I mentioned, I very much like the free download "A Heart Worth Loving (Hermione)" from The Whomping Willows, and Hollow Godric sounds very professional; those free downloads are worth it, too. I'm considering getting the Hollow Godric CD. I also picked up a couple downloads from The Hermione Crookshanks Experience and Ginny and the Heartbreakers.
Anyway, enjoy. Let me know if you find some rough gems, too.
