Friends meme

I answered these questions on [livejournal.com profile] cruisedirector's LJ, so I sorta feel obligated to ask them in my own; turnabout is fair play. (I usually do a variation on this when my friends list pops up another hundred or so. So I'm early this time. Humor me.)

1. When did you first "friend" me? [Actually, you can find out the exact date by clicking here]
2. Why did you first "friend" me?
3. What posts of mine do you like to read the best?
4. What would you like me to write about that I don't?
5. Do you think we would be friends in real life?
6. How often do you read my journal?
7. What do we have in common?
8. Will you post this in your journal so I can answer?
9. Is there anything you want to ask me that you think you should know about me to avoid the impersonality of the internet that I have not already covered in some TMI post or other?
Feel free to answer as many or as few as you like.

(Of course, you may also feel free to answer none at all.)

I haven't answered anyone's until now, as I find this meme very difficult, but I'll give it a go, starting with:

1. When did you first "friend" me? [Actually, you can find out the exact date by clicking here]
All I can tell you is that it was apparently BEFORE Nov 27, 2002, as that's as far back as the chart goes, and my name isn't on it.

2. Why did you first "friend" me?
I recall you were brought up in discussion at FA, with everyone raving about you and your work, and I thought it would be interesting to see a published-author's journal, and see what the person behind the book was like. I *think* I Friended you before I read your books, but I'm not sure.

3. What posts of mine do you like to read the best?
Hard to say. I enjoy hearing about your daily life, ups and downs, especially about your children, since I might be facing similar issues in a few years. And I'm fascinated by the book-development process.

5. Do you think we would be friends in real life?
I think this might be the hardest question to answer - so much of our lives are oddly filtered online, and it's easy to see those things we have in common with each other, while not having to really put up with any differences. I would *like* to think we'd be friends in RL, I also recognise differences in tastes, ages, careers, etc. Not that it's prohibitive (my best friend is 13 years my senior, for instance), but ... right, well, I've rambled enough here. It would be fun to find out, if the opportunity ever presented itself. :) Just, er, don't feed me avocado ice cream. *g*

6. How often do you read my journal? I don't use filters when I read, so ... whenever you post.

7. What do we have in common?
Interest in books, including fantasy literature (although you're more voracious than I am), socially liberal, Harry Potter, doing our best in raising family despite flubs, occasionally wanting to throttle spouse while recognising that he's still a good man, and being hard on ourselves.

8. Will you post this in your journal so I can answer?
Probably not, but you're welcome to answer here if you ever feel so inclined.

9. Is there anything you want to ask me that you think you should know about me to avoid the impersonality of the internet that I have not already covered in some TMI post or other?
First of all - REALLY hard to do TMI with me, unless it involves food poisoning. ;) Otherwise ... hmmm... well, as others have said, what you divulge is pretty much up to you, and you're already quite open. There really isn't anything I feel I 'should' know, but if you're looking for something to share, how about - How did you discover Harry Potter?

9. I discovered Harry Potter because my mother-in-law sent us the first book as either a Christmas present or birthday present for Fiona.

The rest is history.
