Glare Report 12/7/04: Distracted by Georgette Heyer

Instead of writing, I went Christmas shopping. And I ended up only getting stuff for myself, including two new Georgette Heyer novels that I have NEVER READ BEFORE. So, when I got home, I dove into the pages of Sprig Muslin rather than writing.

Priorities are priorities.

Yow! I am nearly dizzy at the notion that you have two Heyers you've never read before. What a delight for you! I keep crossing my fingers that tey'll find a trove of notebooks somewhere which will be new GHs.

*boggles at the concept of there being unread Georgette Heyer novels out there with my name on them*

What's the other one?

Powder and Patch, and I went out tonight and found another bookstore which had The Masqueraders and Beauvallet in stock, which I have also never read.

I predict I'm not going to get much writing done the next couple of days or so.

I envy your having never read that one. It's one of the best.

Oooh, I haven't read that one yet, but I've heard very good things. I just finished Cotillian and am now reading An Infamous Army. You're right, unread Heyer is a very important priority.

I haven't managed to track down a copy of An Infamous Army yet, but I have read Cotillian!

Sprig Muslin's one of my favourite Heyer books, I think maybe because it was one of the first I read but it's also very good.

Sprig Muslin was fun

[identity profile] pegkerr.livejournal.com 2004-12-08 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, it was! I've already finished it. And I've got Powder and Patch waiting at home, and I've called up bookstores today and found one that has both The Masqueraders and Beauvallet in stock! So I'll be getting those tonight. All first-time reads.

Georgette Heyer books are being re-released? Who is publishing them please.

Have all her historical romance books, and a few of her detective ones but they are all falling apart. Need replacement.

Thanking ye

Harlequin is reissuing them. They've done, oh, about ten or so? Note that buying these reissues is probably the first occasion I've ever bought Harlequin in my life.

Ooo! I haven't read Sprig Muslin, either. Whee!!
