Well, I did it

Gulp. Rob is installing the extra RAM now.

I'm gobsmacked. I'll panic about the cost later, believe me.

He probably won't have it up and running before I'm in bed. But for now, it sure is pretty.

Now I hope it works out for you.

Holy cow, that's pretty. Yeah!

[identity profile] jbru.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, after you've spent a year or so without a crash, I think the expense will sort of fade in you mind. Good luck!

[identity profile] aome.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, it is pretty! Haven't seen this model before. Congrats!

Now you just need an iPod to go with it. ;)

[identity profile] jhetley.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Which version did you get?

[identity profile] pegkerr.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
The largest one, with the 20-inch screen and 160GB hard drive.

[identity profile] chance88088.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)

Now I'm jealious!

Don't worry...

[identity profile] huladavid.livejournal.com 2005-02-15 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
...it'll work out fine.

Just curious, but do you name your computers? I've done so since I noticed my first one (a "Fat Mac") made me think of one of those "tummy rubbing" statues, so it was "Bouncing Baby Buddha". (I also used that for the title for a column I wrote for "Lavender Magazine".)

I named my present one "Suma Ymac", for obvious reasons...

I have never named my computers, although I do name my cars. Dunno know why; I've just never had the urge.

Maybe I got into the habit of 'cuz when I was in high school I was "official car namer" since I could "sex" automobiles. (If it had a exhaust pipe that stuck out it was a boy, if no, a girl.)

Not that there's any connection between cars & computers.

By the way, my brother named one of his tractors "Mir" because it was built in Belarus.

Well if you ever need a complete computer smackdown, lemmie know.

It isn't exactly a frivilous purchase. You're a writer. You need a computer. If oyu finish this book this year, it's a business expense. :P
