Don't forget, if you already had a paid account, and you decide to upgrade to a permanent account, you can donate your remaining paid time to a friend. The link is here. I also found on the comments to the site news announcement, that if you had previously bought extra pics, and if you email accounts@livejournal.com they will transfer the extra pics to another account (I wonder if it can only be another paid account??? Probably).
