Food cravings

Man, I really want a deviled egg.

*boggles* Where did THAT craving come from?

What are you craving right now?

Sunshine...

And some grilled hot dogs!

#11 Turkey, Swiss & Apple ~ With freshly sliced green apple, house mayonnaise, oil and vinegar. Served heated on a Baguette - $5.95

From a local Lawrence, KS, cafe and bakery.

Those little mini hors d'oeuvre style sausage rolls. Which is strange, since I'm vegetarian, and haven't had those particular items since . . . oh, a good 10-15 years ago? *g*

Weird....we're having a bake sale today to benefit Operation Feed. One of the women brought in a huge tray of deviled eggs. She said she felt odd because they weren't exactly "baked" goods.

...they were the first thing to disappear!

Pistachios.

Toll House cookies made with extra-large chocolate chips, just long enough out of the oven that they're crispy around the edges, but soft in the center, and faintly warm, with the chocolate chips still melty.

Mountain Dew. I know it's supremely not good for me, but I still love it! It's the food I missed the most when I was in Central American for two years (years and years ago.)

sleep. And summer. And german toffee tea with cream and sugar, and a side of fresh shortbread.

What are you craving right now?

After reading this entry, I'm now craving deviled eggs.

Well, NOW I'm craving a deviled egg!

I'm too suggestible in the morning, I guess. I haven't had breakfast... 8-)

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie.

[identity profile] rutemple.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I make 6 to 9 dozen eggs worth of deviled eggs for the local Playford Ball (an annual fancy dress up version occasiona of the English Country Dance we do all year 'round) and maybe for the family one other random time in the year, for all that I love and adore them.
s'you put curry powder in yours, and are you fussy about the kind of mustard?
yum.

cravings - wee just got a grill, one of those little tabletop Webers, but I couldn't be more pleased with it. We've fired it up a whole twice, now, and what I've had to put on it both times, along with anything else, was sliced of vidalia onion, and corn on the cob, which is available locally already in CA. yummers!

sweet pickles. Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk ice cream. Chocolate cake. unagi.

That might have been her plan all along.

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

Oooo. That would be good, too.

Definitely.

Black raspberry chip ice cream from Graeter's.

I'm even considering ordering some.

B

Falafel

[identity profile] minnehaha.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
There's no good falafel in the Twin Cities. But in Washington DC, there's the fantastic Amsterdam Falafelshop in Adam's Morgan.

Something in the sweet non-chocolate pastry category. Maybe a Wuollets' apple croissant.

[identity profile] baldanders.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
A deviled egg, damn it!

Graeter's

[identity profile] minnehaha.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
It's probably the best ice cream on the planet.

Chocolate soy-icecream. Really badly.

Deviled eggs. Definitely.

The next Harry Potter book, actually.

[identity profile] aerden.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Salsa-flavored Sun Chips. I could eat a whole bag of them, but I'm at work and don't want to get my keyboard all grody. *sigh*

My Mon sprinkles hers with paprika. I don't think she's too picky about the mustard; French's works fine. What kind of mustard do you use?

a chocolate chip cookie

And after reading the comments,

[identity profile] davidschroth.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm craving all kinds of stuff I don't have easy access to.

[identity profile] minnehaha.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, come now. How hard could it be to find pistachios?

Brownie sundae. Also, Post's Cranberry Almond Crunch cereal; I snarfed through a box in record time. Alas, it's no longer on sale and I'm cheap.

Oddly enough, MiniPlu had deviled eggs (and Two had egg salad) for lunch.

Sushi or Mexican food.

Neither delivers and I am lazy.

*doubles over with laughter*

[identity profile] rutemple.livejournal.com 2006-05-10 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I like a stoneground mustard but I'm not picky about brand. Westbrae is what's in the fridge now, so Westbrae is what's going in this batch of - oh I guess there's only six eggs in the house - six deviled eggs!
For curry powder, I like the Frontier Herbs curry, and I like the Madras curry powder that comes in a rectangular metal box; I generally use a little of both kinds since the blend of what a dear friend calls "good spices that begin with C: cumin, coriander, chili, cinnamon, clove, c'turmeric, c'anise, c'mustard..."
I like to sprinnkle mine with paprika, too, as my mother taught me, holding the paprika shaker a couple of feet high, so that light tap has room to disperse before it lands. It's worth wiping the counter over.
