Another formatting question

This may be one for you, [livejournal.com profile] legomymalfoy: is there a font which I can plug in on the customization page for my header which bears a passing resemblance to the Ringbearer font (which I use on my Tolkien icons)? Right now I'm using the Edwardian Script ITC, mostly because I used it with the A Novel Conundrum layout that I've been using the last half year or so. I love it, but it doesn't quite go with the style of the rest of the journal. Switched to Palatino Linotype, so it looks consistent.

Of course, I would love to use the Ringbearer font itself, but we can't have everything.

I've tinkered with the colors so that they work with the Tolkien fonts and although I'm a neophyte and unsure of my own aesthetic judgments, I have cautiously decided I can live with it for now.

I love all the cool links I have been able to add over on the side bar. And I have a Guestbook now.

Any comments you might like to make on the new layout would be appreciated.

It may be pretty simple, compared to those created by ever-so-more experienced tech monkeys, but I'm kinda proud of it. I've come a long way since I first opened up my humble little livejournal (using default evertything) lo these many years ago. I feel like I'm finally putting the pictures on the walls and picking out the furniture that pleases me.

I might consider switching to this format - I don't need the 'page summary' thing, but I've wanted something that lists my tags, because I keep forgetting exactly which ones I've got. :P I like the greens you chose - very soothing, and easy on the eyes.

What does the "FG" mean, ie FG: Kitchen Sink? Filter Group?

FG stands for "filter group," or "friends group." I call my largest filter group "Kitchen Sink," because of the expression "Everything and the kitchen sink." I don't read everyone in that group, heaven knows, but sometimes I'll look at it because those are all (mostly) people who have friended me.

I'm pleased with the greens, too. I used the "Parrot Feathers" theme, which is based on greens and white, but I did tinker with the hues of some of the greens so that they would match my Tolkien icons as closely as possible.

I think it's absolutely lovely.

What's the problem with using the Ringbearer font? :)

Okay, I'm totally ignorant. How do you impose a font on the style when it's not on the drop down list as an option???
