Feeling better

My gall bladder seems to have simmered down for the time being. I'm able to get up and move around, albeit gingerly, and I managed to eat a bowl of cereal and some fruit. Since the pain and nausea have gone away for the time being, I didn't take the next dose of Percoset or the anti-nausea medication (although I won't hesitate to resume them at the first sign of trouble). I still feel rather fragile, though, even though the pain has lifted for the time being.

My gall bladder can't lull me into complacency, though. I'm wise to that trick, and I'm still getting it yanked out on Tuesday.

Thanks for the good wishes and e-cards, everyone. They help, and are very much appreciated.

Yay for feeling better! I'm in the throes of an IBD attack myself, so I totally feel your agony. :(

What did they give you for the nausea? Did it work well?

Er . . . I don't remember. I really wasn't paying attention at the time, concentrating too much on trying not to throw up. Again. I think that the first dose was an intravenous Motrin, but when that wasn't good enough, they switched to a narcotic, again a low dose, but I'm not sure which one. It was a real relief when it finally kicked in, after twelve hours of agony.
