Bamboo bicycle

Here's today's utterly cool idea that I hope spread far and wide. This was a story in my local paper today: Bamboo is sturdy, plentiful and eco-friendly. So why not make a bicycle out of it? A Californian has peddled the idea to Ghana and beyond

Here is another web page which includes a picture of a bamboo bicycle. Edited to add: Here's another link, with details and pictures about the frame. And here's Calfee's website with further information.

WOW. That is a bicycle that I would come up with the cash to buy, and would inspire me to attempt a 20-mile-in-either-direction bicycle commute. Too bad I can't cycle from Saratoga to Manhattan, instead of taking the train once a week. :o)

P.S. I purchased the download of Welcome to Wizard Rock last night; I've been listening to it incessantly, and love every bit of it. Thanks for posting all of your links about Potterific music.

Hurrah! I love it too, and in fact I'm listening to it right now myself.

**laughs** Mine is on loop on my laptop; I dance in my chair to the chorus of "Get On the Bus" every time it comes around.

There are bamboo 'wood' flooring options that I covet, they're beautiful and so practical.

Cool!
I heard about this yesterday on my local NPR station =)
