Presenting Nimbus 2003 presentation again 10/30/05

In a weak moment, when my new church was scratching around for topics for the adult Sunday education hour, I offered to do a presentation based on the paper I presented at Nimbus 2003. The title of the paper is "The Seven Deadly Sins/Seven Heavenly Virtues: Moral Development in Harry Potter." It would be at 9:15 a.m. (for an hour) at a church in south Minneapolis. I will probably not be going as in-depth as I did at Nimbus, but will be arguing, essentially, that the HP books are a fictional account of the attainment of a moral education. If you think you might be interested in attending, e-mail me for further details. (Oh, and if you're in the Twin Cities and want to be added to my Twin Cities filter and you think I might not know that, drop me a comment.)

Directions?

Obviously, I can't attend, but I'd love to read the text of your presentation. I anticipate that the issue may arise someday with parents of my students, plus I think the kids themselves might find that angle interesting to consider.

Sounds wonderful--hope you have a room full of people with open ears and hearts. The minds you might change, but hearts take a lot of work...

I would like to be added to the Twin Cities filter.

Thank you!

Has the full Nimbus version been published?

Yes. In hardcover and in paperback.
