Urgh. Gall bladder, I think

I'm waiting for a call back from my doctor. I'm feeling pain right under my rib cage. I blame pizza: two slices at lunch, one at dinner (not my choice; that was being served at two meetings I attended today).

I hope they can suggest something for the pain. I don't think I need to go to the hospital, though. This isn't as bad as the one I had last June. Yet. But I don't think I'm going to sleep very well tonight.

What, do you have gall-stones? That sounds familiar.

Urgh! My sympathies. I didn't find anything that helped the pain when I had a gall bladder (we think) thing back a while ago so I hope your doctor did have something to recommend and that you get some sleep and recover quickly.

good luck with the gall bladder attack... and ...

Your doctor calls you back? You have a phone number for your doctor? My ghod, it's like the 1960s over at your house!

K. [I can't even imagine having a doctor who calls you back! Is this person taking new patients?]

Ha. Actually, the doctor never did call me back. It was supposed to be the on-call doctor. I never tried calling the clinic back, since I was in too much pain to bother. This is unusual, though; usually the on-call doctor does call. I just toughed it out all night and finally got to sleep about 3 am or so. Just got up. I supposed I should go in to work, now, but there is a certain attraction to remaining in my bathrobe for the rest of the day and trying to write the holiday letter. I'll see how I feel after attempting some lunch.

I should have suggested ice packs on your gall bladder. That always helps me. The cold calms the spasms down. I usually sip hot herbal tea (the liver support one) while doing this, as the heat inside and the cold without seems to be a useful combination. My old chiropractor suggested it. I also find that my gall bladder attacks come MUCH less frequently when I stay well hydrated.
