You're right... that won't work. Well, it'll just have to wait and I'll just have to learn to live with the pain. It's not so bad, but it's constant and I can't get away from it, you know?

When I developed gallstones I was advised to eat as little fat as possible in between the diagnosis and surgery, in order to decrease the chances of more attacks. I didn't have constant pain so I don't know how much that would help in your case, but it couldn't hurt to try.

You're right. I don't eat much fat, so the few times I have (in one case, onion rings and in another, good old Tex-Mex) I was MISERABLE. I didn't connect that with the pain until the doctor asked if I'd had nausea. I was like "you know, actually..."

Not the brightest bulb on the tree. But I am really cutting back on fat. I guess it's spasms or something. It's not bad--like a 4 or so on a scale of 1 to 10 but it's annoying. I'M IN UR SIDE BEIN UR GALL BLADDER.

However, I'm not entirely sure I can trust you, seeing as you are a tool of Satan. *grin*

In this comment, [livejournal.com profile] minnehaha K. suggested a treatment her chiropractor told her about: lots of water, cold packs on the gall bladder to slow the spasms down, and this tea. Hope this helps!

Oh, and my doctor's post-op instructions were: No driving for a week. No lifting anything heavier than a six-pack for a week. No lifting heavier than ten pounds for six weeks. (I think???)

And the CO2 they pump into your system really hurts. That, as well as the anaesthesia, can knock you flat.

Is that what this constant pain is? Spasms? I'm getting used to it but I will definitely try the cold packs and stop by the health food store tomorrow. Thank you SO MUCH (and minnehaha) for the tips. This is just annoying. The pain has not stopped once in about 3 weeks now. Grrrr.
