Ouch!

I did my new Firm tape this morning: Firm: Strong Heart. It has the toughest legs section I've ever seen.

I am going to have the legs of a goddess!

If they don't fall off first.

Peg

("I conjure you by Rosiland's quivering thigh/and the regions that there adjacent lie" Two points to the first person (except for [livejournal.com profile] pameladean, of course, who probably would know it immediately without even trying) to recognize the source of that quotation!)

Later: Corrected. I realize I didn't have the quotation quite right. Here it is again (sorry!):

" [I conjure you]. . .by her fine foot, straight leg and quivering thigh / And the demesnes that there adjacent lie . . . Boy, you better believe I thought about those quivering thighs this morning when I was doing the abductor lifts. Whew!

So how long does one have to exercise before one gets the legs (or anything else) of a goddess?

And are you misquoting, or quoting someone else misquoting? If one, I know it, if the other, well, I don't.

Goddess gams

I don't know how long it will take. I've been exercising since February, and I'm still in the "do you see anything different yet?" stage.

I do need to kick up the frequency and intensity, I think. The new tapes I've recently acquired should help.

Oh, and re: the quotation; you're right, I had misquoted it, but corrected it on my original message.

I know what you mean about the exercise. I've started (again), but I'm going verrrry slowly, because I know that if I push too hard I'll stop. It's frustrating, though. I want results! Now!

The name made me think it was As You Like It at first.

Only ever remember seeing Rosalin…

But, I'm thinking it might be something from John M. Ford.

Isn't that what Mercutio says to Romeo when he's trying to intice Romeo to go to the Capulet ball in Romeo and Juliet? Or am I totally off base? :)

*relurks*

Close!

You're right, it's Mercutio's line to Romeo. But it's after they leave the ball. Romeo winds up that little scene with another pretty famous line "He jests at scars that never felt a wound," and then on to the balcony scene.

I'll give you one point at least!

Cheers,
Peg

I wasn't going to be bold enough to place it precisely in the play's time line, but I did remember this as Mercutio taking a jab at Romeo's fickle nature. "Weren't you just all hot-to-trot for Mistress Rosalind, describing bits of her anatomy in florid detail? What's this with the Capulet chick, huh?" Well, words to that effect, slightly cruder.
