I am attempting to write my paper for the Fantasy Matters conference
It is not going particularly well. In fact, it's barely going at all. Much pacing and hair pulling is involved.

Maybe just start writing and see where it goes? You can always throw it away or pluck out the good bits. Anything to get the juices flowing.

Do you need to talk out the concept -- or write topic sentences on 3x5 cards and decide on their order by changing the shuffle?

Maybe you could use the pacing and hair pulling as the basis for an interpretive dance?
I know, I know... I'm not helping at all, but that's my function in life.
