Maybe just start writing and see where it goes? You can always throw it away or pluck out the good bits. Anything to get the juices flowing.

I remember in college I'd often type a page or two of a first draft right off, and then start a different first draft, and sometimes a third. And *then* I could write a rough outline and go at the darned thing systematically.

But Peg problably knows how she writes papers by now, I would think.

I called Kij and read bits of it to her over the phone and she said I was on the right track and that helped. I may post about it later today. I really have to get the bulk of it done this weekend, because I'll have precious little time to do it the remainder of the week, and I present it next Saturday.
