I am attempting to write my paper for the Fantasy Matters conference

It is not going particularly well. In fact, it's barely going at all. Much pacing and hair pulling is involved.

Maybe just start writing and see where it goes? You can always throw it away or pluck out the good bits. Anything to get the juices flowing.

I remember in college I'd often type a page or two of a first draft right off, and then start a different first draft, and sometimes a third. And *then* I could write a rough outline and go at the darned thing systematically.

But Peg problably knows how she writes papers by now, I would think.

That's what I've been doing . But after gnawing at it all day, I just got about four pages. Urgh.
