LiveJournal Children

[livejournal.com profile] mleoyvoeu just shyly introduced herself to me, as someone who has been reading my journal for a couple of years and has now been sucked into opening an account of her own and taking the plunge (come on in, [livejournal.com profile] mleoyvoeu, the water's fine!). It made me wonder how many other LiveJournal children I have out there. How many of you found LiveJournal and started your own account because you started reading mine? I think [livejournal.com profile] nermina did, and [livejournal.com profile] annieways and [livejournal.com profile] lkw18. I introduced you, too, [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson, didn't I? Who else?

And if it wasn't me, what brought you to LiveJournal?

Thought of the day

This was the Thought of the Day on www.refdesk.com:

"Not to know is bad. Not to want to know is worse. Not to hope is unthinkable. Not to care is unforgivable." - Nigerian saying.

Yeah. . .

Just when I thought Jeb Bush could sink no lower

He pulls something like this.

The autopsy made him look like a fool, so apparently he decides to deflect the heat by making some more political hay out of this family's tragedy.

What an ass.

Walk at lunch

I took a walk across the Stone Arch Bridge over the Mississippi River. The sky was so achingly blue, and the air so deliciously fresh after all our morbid weeks of rain, that it was unbelievably hard to turn my steps back. As I approached the office, I had a strong urge to whip out a rocket grenade launcher and reduce the building to smoking rubble so that I wouldn't have to go back to work.

But then it occurred to me that I had left my purse up at my desk and so it probably wouldn't be wise. So I left my attorneys to live another day.

Next time, I'll take a fanny pack, so there'll be no reason not to go ahead. Then they're toast.
