[livejournal.com profile] mleoyvoeu just shyly introduced herself to me, as someone who has been reading my journal for a couple of years and has now been sucked into opening an account of her own and taking the plunge (come on in, [livejournal.com profile] mleoyvoeu, the water's fine!). It made me wonder how many other LiveJournal children I have out there. How many of you found LiveJournal and started your own account because you started reading mine? I think [livejournal.com profile] nermina did, and [livejournal.com profile] annieways and [livejournal.com profile] lkw18. I introduced you, too, [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson, didn't I? Who else?

And if it wasn't me, what brought you to LiveJournal?

First off, I've added the person in question to my friend's list. We seem to have interests in common and that is as good a place as any to start an aquaintance.

As to being a child of yours, I can't claim that one. I joined LJ with a group of others who were involved in National Novel Writing Month a couple of years ago. We were hoping to keep track of each other's progress this way and whine about writing. Only one of us succeeded that year (I did much better the next year and am still trying to make that puppy readable) but most of us still have our journals and even post to them from time to time. I sought you out after reading "The Wild Swans" and have stayed because of the person that you are.

yeah, I started reading yours when I didn't have my own. I figured it was kind of rude to do that (before I even knew what a "lurker" was and before I knew that other lj less people do that all the time) so I just kind of created mine, not really taking it seriously. I didn't even actually think I would let anyone read it for awhile, and now I have 50 friends!

I was just thinking about this yesterday actually because of my sister. You got me, then I got my mom then my mom got my sister! It's a vicious cycle!

And if it wasn't me, what brought you to LiveJournal?

The Liaden Universe(R) brought me here. There were a bunch of people on our mailing list who wanted to discuss the new book in detail, and a good number who hadn't read the book yet. So one of the list members kindly made a Liaden Universe Spoilers LJ; and I created Eagles Over the Kennebec -- to see what all the fuss was about, really. I found I liked it and stayed...

For me, it was [livejournal.com profile] laurel who pointed me here when I was looking for a place to practice some writing. Only after joining did I start finding so many friends and acquaintances here.

I was pulled onto livejournal by my good friend [livejournal.com profile] sariane and eventually figured out that some of the people who have written some of my favorite books keep journals as well. That is how I ended up reading your journal and now I think it may be time to reread some of your work. :)

A bunch of us got to be friends through chatting on TORC in the thread Frodo's Kitchen. Then several of them got lj's and started twisting arms to get the rest of us on. So here I am.

My brother is [livejournal.com profile] baldanders. When I joined LiveJournal, he pointed me to your journal as one he thought I would like. And I do! After reading your journal, I sought out and read Emerald House Rising (I liked what you wrote about balance in this book very much) and The Wild Swans. :-)
