He pulls something like this.

The autopsy made him look like a fool, so apparently he decides to deflect the heat by making some more political hay out of this family's tragedy.

What an ass.

I've felt for months if not years that the Terri Schiavo case is some kind of deeply personal crusade for Jeb Bush, playing in some way into his deep fears and dark places; you're convincing me that I'm right.

Yes, he is an ass. They need to just let all of these people get on with their lives.

well and besides, I really am disgusted that it was made so public in the first place. It was highly disrespectful to the family and deciding whether or not to keep someone on a feeding tube has been going on for a long time. It's not like she nor her family were the first people to have to struggle with that.

It was a grandstanding opportunity of the most revolting sort.

Poor Mr. Schiavo doesn't deserve this crap. Not saying the guy's an angel - who is? - but I wouldn't wish this kind of political asshattery on my worst enemy, and he's far from.

Methinks Good Ol' Jeb is going to milk this for all it's worth, just to further his political aspirations. What a pity when people exploit someone's tragedy for their own personal gain.

I can't imagine what he's running for that it would be helpful to persecute a guy who stood up to government when it was wrong. Maybe a Southern Baptist leaderhsip position? His own talk radio show?

With this single move, Jeb has gone from a Howard Dean-esque quixotic nature to an Al Sharpton-esque whackopathology. He's a sore loser and a mean-spirited bully. Categorically unelectable. I can only hope that The Hand-puppet Formerly Known As Bill Frist publicly agrees that bringing Michael Schiavo to justice is a good use of government power.

Well, Daddy wants him in the White House, and pandering to an aging population that is afraid their children will pull the plug on them is a good way to get some hefty donations.

Sickening.

Normally, I'm of the political bent to defend Jeb Bush, but this is just ridiculous.

ARGH. Let the poor woman rest in peace, for crying out loud.

Memo to Jeb!: I'm so glad that term limits mean that we only have one more year of your governorship. So. Very. Glad.

Delurking to add one more cry of outrage. Jeb's been governor for years, and he decides _now_ is a good time to lean on prosecutors to investigate whether there was an attack? Based on Michael Schiavo not remembering the precise time of his wife's collapse in an interview. It's so transparently retaliation to Michael Schiavo for winning the court battle and for publishing an autopsy that proved her brain death, making many people (including the Schindler family attorney who claimed Terri tried to speak) look very, very foolish.

I have to agree with all of the above. If I was a more cowardly sort, I would flee this state. But, by doing that, I would be handing one more vote over to the supporters of crap like this. As it is, I will stay and try to make sure that someone like this does not follow him into office. And to think, I thought we had all of those hurricanes just for voting in the Big Brother. I can only imagine what will come at us this year.

Word. Jeb is a jackass. I'm terrified he's going to run for the top spot at some point, despite his claims he's not interested.

He just can't let go of it, can he? A governor has no business interfering in something like this at all. I do have to say that Jeb is probably my favorite of the Bushes. He's done one thing that I liked, and that was important to me - kept his brother from allowing drilling for oil near the Dry Tortugas.

I read that in the paper on Saturday and almost threw up. Gnaaagh, I don't even have words to describe how angry that makes me.
