Our senior instructor Mr. Sidner has been so happy with the way that Fiona's been assisting as an intern that he's going to be offering her a part time job. She will be actually teaching some classes and getting paid. Fiona's absolutely thrilled, and we're thrilled for her. This summer will be shaping up to be exactly what she wants: working part time at a science fiction/fantasy bookstore and working as a karate instructor. The extra time at the dojo will be helpful to get her on track to test for second degree, too. Could anything else be more perfect for her?

Another note to Ginny the Jeep
May. 14th, 2010 12:15 pmI did not appreciate your hissy fit this morning. I realize I didn't give you the oil change I promised, but the mechanic ran out of time after he replaced the radiator valve last week. Not my fault.
I do not think that is a sufficient excuse for you to blow out your water pump. Really, I have all the drama in my life that I need from my teenage daughters, and I don't need anymore from you.
I should warn you that Rob is arguing with me over repairing you at all. He thinks you should be junked. I have replied that as long as he doesn't have a permanent job, I am in no position to be able to make a car payment each month. Still, a bill for $270 for the water pump, after the $170 bill last week, is awfully tough for me to swallow.
So be warned. This is truly your last chance.

May. 14th, 2010 10:14 pmGreyson Chance, the kid appearing in the video I posted a couple days ago, singing "Paparazzi" in a sixth grade talent show, is indeed rocketing his way to the top. He appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show yesterday, where he talked about the video gone viral and Ellen surprised him big-time with a phone call from his idol, Lady Gaga herself. Then he played the song again, live, and proved it wasn't a fluke. The kid's absolutely adorable. Best of luck to you, Greyson. It'll be fun to hear about you in the years to come.
