I hold my daughter R up as my model: She first met Ericka when R was about 11 and very much into appearance. Ericka was at Minicon, in her chair. They chatted about some girly thing for a while. Then about a year later, I had reason to mention Ericka to R. I said something like "You met her at Minicon. She uses a wheelchair."
Did R respond with something about Ericka's size? No. What she said was "Oh, you mean that woman who had her nails all done fancy?"
