Peg is trying to rationalize this dichotomy by misspelling her name. There is not now, nor has there ever been a 'Y' in Corwin's first name. Just her last name, which is irrelevant here, unless it explains where Peg found it in the first place. Nonetheless, not Corwyn. Corwin. Girl. Smart, funny girl, to boot.
