Not sure where you're located, prunesnprism, but the American Cancer Society runs a free program nationwide called Road to Recovery, where volunteer drivers bring patients to and from treatments and hospital visits at no charge. If you can get word to that family, they can call ACS at 1.800.ACS.2345 for Road services and dozens of other programs, too, all free.
