I have had, uh, seven servings in the past twenty-four hours.

Stupid body.

Oh lor'. I remember times like that. (There are *some* compensations to being post-menopausal; fewer desperate cravings for chocolate are among them. *wry*)

How much chocolate constitutes a serving?

It varied wildly.

Yesterday:

Four squares of dark chocolate with crystallized ginger
Four dark chocolate-covered coffee beans
Starbucks brownie
Another bar of dark chocolate with espresso

Today:
Coffee mocha
Two heaping bowls of frozen chocolate yogurt

And, uh, since making this entry, I went down and dished up a third bowl of frozen chocolate yogurt.

These cravings have been really fierce. I'm trying to lose weight because I feel I need to, to launch back into my karate game, and I really hate feeling out of control.

Oh, yeah. And a few dark chocolate Hershey Kisses.

Geez.

Dang. And I don't have any chocolate in the house at all. ::stares suspiciously at Peg::

I get wicked chocolate cravings, and I find that if I get the Lindt Lindor truffles (my favorite are the dark chocolate and mint, but milk chocolate is also really yummy), then I keep them in the fridge, and pop one in my mouth and let it melt it's usually rich enough and long enough to temporarily stave my cravings. That said, there have definitely been days when I've had 5 or 6 of them. But that's only 2 servings!!!

I found a really delicious chocolate: dark chocolate with chili in it. The flavor of the chocolate is amazing (it's pretty high quality chocolate!) but it's not the kind of thing you can eat a lot of at a time, because of the chili. I tend to eat chocolate pretty compulsively, but I couldn't do that with this stuff.

However, dark chocolate is not entirely bad for you. Some would argue that in smallish doses, it's even good for you.

Mmm... chocolate. I used to keep dark chocolate squares at home. So lovely and bite size. Your chocolate list doesn't sound so bad!!
