They didn't capture her leg at perfectly full extension on the kick, but we're still quite pleased with it. She looks great!

Interesting differences. FIona looks fierce in hers, whereas Delia looks more focused. I wouldn't much want to get in the way of either one.

What struck me is how determined she is (rather than fierce, like the other commenter said) and how much more mature she looks in this picture than last year's photo.

That is just fantastic! I am going to show it to Jon tonight to give him some context for what black belts can do. He was supposed to test for his yellow belt last week but developed a major case of stage fright, so we put it off until the summer. I know he loves karate, and I think he wishes he hadn't had this out-of-the-blue terror - I think seeing more and more older students doing such wonderful things should make an impact on him.
