I think the medium-length cut looks lovely on you -- go for it! And, as I know from several prior long-to-short hair experiences, you'll probably get more wave and lift in your hair when you cut it, too, which is fun.
Besides, a shorter cut is a nice way to let yourself feel spring is on the way. :)
