The news has percolated through the Minneapolis fandom that [livejournal.com profile] chasophonic had a heart attack followed by bypass surgery, all sudden, all yesterday. There is a secondhand report that Chas is recovering well. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mark1111 and [livejournal.com profile] minnehaha K. for passing on the news. Best wishes to him and to Bonnie for his swift recovery.

Edited to add: The report from [livejournal.com profile] ericcoleman:
Chas Somdahl had a heart attack this morning. Drove himself to the ER. Pretty tough Norwegian that one. Then based the choice of ER's on the fact that it had free parking.
After testing they concluded that he has 90% blockage in all 4 major arteries and was scheduled for a quadruple bipass at 6PM. No wasting time.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Another report from Becca:
The [breathing] tube is out!!! Chas is not talking (much) yet but he's certainly maintained his typical sense of humor (refering to his hospital bracelets as 'my bling'). Bonnie has (finally) eaten some breakfast and we've decided that sleep is for the weak! We're waiting for shift change to finish before heading back to the room. Thanks for all the well wishes. I'll keep passing them on.
