today, we are going to the feast of saint anthony in Boston's North End, the longest running Italian festival in the country. It's just over a century old, but missed at least one instance during the pandemic. It's usually a crush of people, lots of vendor tents, an actual parade of procession of the saint through the streets (where you can tape a dollar to the ribbons of the saint), and a terrible band and ...zeppole. And cannoli.
My husband is not *that* italian so it isn't religious for us, but it's nice to be down there, and celebrating the heritage of our city.
