I still get the message that I don't have enough unusual shared interests for that puppy to work for me. I must be weirder than all my friends. :)

Peg,

I'm another random person on your flist that reads your journal greedily, but I thought it was high time that I thanked you for introducing me to the music of Loreena McKennitt. If I had never stumbled across your journal, I would never have heard of her. And now I own every single one of her CDs - and Elemental is my favourite of all the CDs I own, Celtic, pop, classical, or otherwise. =D Again, thank you for introducing me to her wonderful music!

Love,
Victoria

Hurray! I am so glad that my journal led you to discover her.

Don't know if you've read my second book The Wild Swans, by the way, but my protagonist, Eliza's physical appearance, is based entirely on Loreena McKennitt. I saw a picture of her in the newspaper advertising a concert appearance, the day after I had a disturbing dream about a woman watching swans swim in a city park, and Loreena's face (a younger version of it, anyway) morphed onto the character as she developed.

I have read The Wild Swans (read it after I found your journal, by the way); I actually bought it the same day I bought The Mask and the Mirror, and the entire time I read I was listening to the CD. I figured that if you wrote it that way, I should read it that way.

Thank you for great books and great music =)
