This and that
Aug. 28th, 2002 09:59 pmThe plumber will be here tomorrow morning, and the electrician on Friday.
The last three books I've read have been biographies. I had been congratulating myself for breaking out of my rut and broadening my horizons by reading non-fiction. Then I realized that biography, of all non-fiction forms, is probably the most structurally similar to fiction. It's a story, after all, with characters and a plot--the story of somebody's life.
Must stretch myself a bit further.

That book blurb is due the day after tomorrow. I'll get it done, too, but probably won't send it off until the very last minute (and I'll include it with my end-of-the-month book list here). The biggest worry, of course, was that I wouldn't like the book. Awkward if that were to happen, since I know the author and honestly want to help her career (if a word from Peg Kerr could really help anyone). Fortunately, I've read it and liked it, so that's not the problem: the problem is what, exactly, to say.

Hmm. Must mull upon this further.
I pecked at the office newsletter a bit today, with a notable lack of enthusiasm. After over three years of turning out monthly newsletters, I'm running out of things to say about this law firm. Even when I make stuff up.

Rob is working every day this holiday weekend. Feh.
Well, this is certainly a sporadic entry . . .

but I am tired of editing and deleting it. Will send it on its way anyway. Sorry. Not too inspired tonight.
Cheers,
Peg
