I'm updating quickly from work, since my home phone line is down. We expect to have it up again tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. I haven't been able to send or receive e-mail at home since yesterday. So, [livejournal.com profile] siriologist and [livejournal.com profile] praetorianguard, here is my workout report for today, via LiveJournal instead of e-mail: I got up at 5:15 p.m. and started a Cathe Freidrich step video, and then thought, ya know, I don't really want to work that hard today. I switched to Donna Richardson's Donnamite, which is a good tape to do when you're not in the mood; sometimes the rowdy party atmosphere of this tape can get you going when sheer will isn't quite enough. I did a half an hour and then threw in the towel. But hey, a half an hour is better than nothing. I also skipped the stretches (not a good idea, I know, but I really don't do that very often.)

Got a voice mail back from the St. Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation (alas, I never seem to be able to talk with the people there live; we are always exchanging voice mails). My humble request to visit the ice palace site as it is being built has been passed on to the construction company Kraus Anderson, and discussed with the project manager (Yay!). The answer is "We don't know yet, and we won't know until insurance is finalized, but we'll get back to you."

But that is hopeful anyway. At least now Kraus Anderson knows about me.

And even if worst comes to worst and I'm not allowed on site while it's built, they do plan to let the public actually enter the ice palace after it is completed. In fact, it will be the first ice palace since 1941 that the public is being allowed inside.

Keep sending all your wishes to Minnesota for cold weather!
