Today is my twentieth wedding anniversary.
Both Rob and I took the day off work (and boy, isn't that a rare event for us to have the same day off, on our anniversary!). We are going out to see a noon matinee of "A Prairie Home Companion," taking the girls. It seemed appropriate, since we've been listening to that show since we started dating, and it's a way to include them on our special day.
Then we will go to Sears to have our picture taken, as we do every year on or around our anniversary. This year will be a special one, because we're going to be taking our decade picture. On our tenth anniversary, we took a picture of us holding up a 11" x 17" picture of us on our wedding day. Today, we will hold that picture up, so the effect will be seeing the two of us in a tunnel back through time. On our thirtieth, we will hold that picture up. I saw a picture of a couple who had done this every decade for fifty years, and it was truly moving, a stunning depiction, in one image, of how they had changed throughout all their years together. I'll post a copy when we get the picture back, which will take a few weeks.
After that, we'll take the girls to their karate class, and then Rob and I will go to dinner together at Lucia's. I got a gift certificate, a very generous one, from one of my attorneys for Christmas. Hurray for attorneys with money to burn!
