My family takes good care of me
Oct. 5th, 2007 03:02 pmI'm still knocked flat today. Still feverish and coughing, although the coughing isn't quite as desperate and the sore throat isn't quite as unbearable today. I slept very badly last night, actually getting up to take a hot bath a couple of times in the middle of the night, but I've napped several times today. (Poor Rob slept on the couch last night. He found the room unpleasantly hot from the humidifier, and my coughing would have made it impossible for him to sleep).
Rob went to Delia's conferences today (she's doing extremely well) and then the two of them went to the grocery store. They came back, gloating, bearing Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea and Traditional Medicinal Throat Coat tea, soup, italian ices, a get well card and Cepacol and a dozen roses which are sitting there on my bedside table. And a brand new pair of fuzzy slippers for me.
They are taking really good care of me.
The 48 hour strep test came out negative. For those of you who asked, my doctor did listen to my lungs but didn't detect signs of pneumonia. She did give me a prescription for antibiotics that I'm to fill on Sunday if I don't seem to be getting better. I'm hoping I won't have to do so.
