pegkerr: (Peg and Rob)
Peg: Did you get a whole turkey when you last went to the grocery store?
Rob: [undoubtedly bewildered that this came up now] No. The only turkey I've bought recently is sliced turkey for sandwiches.
Peg: Oh.
Rob: Why?
Peg: Well . . . I thought that you'd gotten a turkey, and I wanted to cook it. So I put it in the oven, raw, because I wanted to remind myself to bake it. But I forgot to turn the oven on, and I forgot it was in there, and it sat there for several days. And then you insisted it should be cooked anyway, because it would be a waste of money just to throw it away. But I was worried that we'd get sick if we ate it now.
Rob: Nope
Peg: Oh. So it was just an anxiety dream about my bad memory.
Rob: Except you forgot it was a dream.
Peg: [Starting to laugh] This conversation is so going to be posted on LiveJournal.
Rob: That is, if you remember it in the morning. You've more recently forgotten that you've left the oven on all night than you've forgotten putting something into it without cooking it.
