Harry Potter Alliance: Starvation Horcrux
Nov. 1st, 2010 06:26 pmI really REALLY admire the Harry Potter Alliance.
The Deathly Hallows Campaign spans the nine months between Harry Potter films. From November 2010 through July 2011, Harry will be struggling to destroy Voldemort’s horcruxes. At the same time, Harry Potter fans across the globe are joining the Harry Potter Alliance on an epic journey to destroy seven real world horcruxes.About the first Horcrux, the Alliance says:
Join this adventure as we shine the light of our love at Lumos Parties on the night of the movie’s release.
Sign this petition to help us fight the “Starvation Wages Horcrux.”
Join our exciting Dumbledore’s Army meetings the last day of each month to find out what the next horcrux will be and how we will fight it. Tweet with the hashtag #deathlyhallows, discuss creative tactics, follow our blog and YouTube.
There will be even more ways for you to be involved as the campaign continues!
The moment the Harry Potter Alliance has been waiting five years for has arrived and Dumbledore’s Army needs you!
On November 1st, 2010, the Harry Potter Alliance sent a letter to Time Warner, the parent company of Warner Brothers, inviting them to switch to Fair Trade chocolate for all of its Harry Potter merchandising. When Hermione Granger discovers that the food at Hogwarts, chocolate included, is being made by house elves–essentially unpaid, indentured servants–she immediately starts a campaign to replace exploitation with fairness. Similarly, the cocoa industry is plagued by inhumane and unjust economic and labor conditions. Therefore, by switching to Fair Trade chocolate, Time Warner can ensure that no chocolate in Harry’s name is being made under inhumane conditions (including starvation and child slavery). Together we can fight the Starvation Wages Horcrux!( What I did today to make the world a better place )
